DAKKA DAKKA's wide variety of different styles that gets airplay is Metal, Death, Doom, Grind, Hard Rock, Grunge, Gothic Rock, Punk, Hardcore, Industrial Metal & -Rock, Guitar Rock, Blues Rock, Progressive Rock, FM Metal, Powerpop, Emo, Guitar Oriented Dance,… basically anything that has distorted guitars in it. We play anything ranging from Marillion to Napalm Death, Type O Negative to Fugazi and Testify to King Crimson.

Our personal archives alone hold thousands of albums, CD's and singles. You'll hear us play an old Jethro Tull or Minor Threat song if time permits it. But the main dish in our weekly update is the new stuff. Already a lot of known and relatively unknown labels provide us with the necessary material to make it happen. Metal Blade, Magna Carta, Bad Taste,… to name but a few.

Everyone gets the same treatment at DAKKA DAKKA. Known bands with super budget CD's don't get more airplay than unsigned artists that send in demotapes. In fact, just look at our playlists and you'll see that bands like Metallica, Offspring and Megadeth are virtually missing since we feel such bands don't need the extra attention.

Our policy is that we play at least one song (if possible, two or more, if time permits it) of each new CD in one or more successive weeks. Understand that we do what we can with the limited time we have.
