This is the temporary barebone website of Klabotskop (formerly known as Starspawn, not to be confused with the Black Metal band with the same name). The band plays Heavy Rock, Rock, Heavy Metal, Stoner, Hardcore Punk and Speed Metal, sometimes spiced up with elements from other genres that aren't necessarily Metal related.

Starspawn was formed in 1990, initially releasing two demo cassettes under the name Spawn. In 2000 they recorded a self produced CD called "Four Pound Ransom". Now they are finishing a new as yet untitled album. It will appear on the most common online music stores and streaming channels. The image here above is a preview of the artwork.

While nearly all of the songs on the album are in English, the objective is to later release a companion album with the songs re-recorded in a local Dutch dialect called "Leives" (aka Louvainian or Leuvens), hence the new band name "Klabotskop", which means tadpole in the same dialect.

By switching to Leives as the main language of delivery, the band plans to focus on the local Belgian market. They are a local band after all. Still, Rockers and Metalheads outside of Belgium might now find extra appeal in Klabotskop's music because of the novelty factor of hearing a language, rarely heard in music and certainly never used before in Metal. And even if that's not the case, don't worry, we continue recording in English too.

The English album that's about to be released first also contains metal covers of the Vanessa Paradis song "Tandem" (in French) and Zjef Van Uytsel's masterpiece "De Zotte Morgen" (in Flemish Dutch). It will also already contain a few tracks in the Leives dialect.
