GIVE
THESE GUYS A RECORD DEAL
"Slayer
meets Ren & Stimpy"
"The
funky guitar and musical excesses of the opening track remind
me a bit of Mr. Bungle. No wonder we approve of this.
What's
so exciting about these nutcases, is that they have no problems
whatsoever to go from hardcore or punk to White Zombie-like
Industrial Metal or schizoid Metal in the vein of Faith No
More. It's
obvious this band won't and can't be pigeonholed."
"What
can I say? Give these guys a record deal. Roadrunner?
I Scream? Immortal?"
Sasha
Van Der Speten of RIF RAF, Belgium

ACCUSED
OF BEING INTELLIGENT
Starspawn
is one of the very few bands in Metal which can be accused of
being intelligent.
Starspawn
is unhindered by the do's and don't's from the genres they are
influenced by and their attitude of non-conformism vaguely refers
to Primus even though their music is based on other fundaments.
All fourteen
songs are packaged with brilliant artwork as well, thus proving
that with the aid of some software and a lot of creativity you
can go a long way.

Vos of SPIN CITY, Belgium

GENIUS!
"This
is in fact the most diverse band Belgium's ever had on offer
(Golly, I'm not sure if one could find a band anywhere on this
world to compare them with in a nutshell), and so it is safe
to say that any label signing with these guys is going to get
real quality musicians in the house. It should, in fact, not
surprise me at all to find some Major label getting excited
over this band. It's true there's been more genius bands overlooked
in the past, but these people will keep at it, they'll persevere...
and they will make it, you mark my words..."
"I
for one shall be waiting eagerly to be able to put their first
real CD into my collection. It would get an honorary space,
that's for sure!!! Record companies; please start sending in
your proposals now."

GOLD!
From the
small organ in "Sesame Seed" to the very surprising
"Soap Snatching Space Spiders" and "Our Seperate
Ways" (which has made itself a nest in my ears) just about
all songs sound as good as they are diverse.
Rating:
GOLD (excellent / a top-CD of the genre)

THE
POLICE MEETS PANTERA?
This CD
is so very varied, that it kept me interested 'till the very
end. I heard all kinds of stuff. From The Police, Madness
and Belgian Associality to Motörhead and Pantera.
I think
that these guys have to be great musicians, to be able to play
all these different styles.
A very entertaining
package!

A
sneak preview of some possible future rave reviews
"Check
out their rather weird wiggly things!" / "If only they weren't
so darn ugly. I can't bare looking at them." / "Their song
about a large black dog who farts in small children's faces is utterly
tasteless and not funny." / "Political incorrectness
to the extreme. And what's wrong with poodles anyway?" / 'It's pointless. Everything is." / "This
is a crime against humanity. They should be
sealed in somewhere permanently. I have already started a petition
to ban them from television, Earth and radio." / "Why are
they doing this? It must be for the free beer at gigs and for the
women because they are certainly not in it for the music."
Gig
reviews
Only
one review for the moment. We don't have any more.
Starspawn,
live at the Frontline, Ghent
"We let them play on a hardcore night, and that wasn't such a
great idea ... In their music they use all kinds of influences, from
"The police" to "Motörhead'. Personally, I thought they were
fuckin' great! Real good musicians that refuse to limit themselves
to one style."

Reviews
of our past demotapes
Now
following are review excerpts of our second and third demotape. You
won't find any reviews of the first demotape here. Suffice it to say
that it only got three reviews and they were not too favourable. To
say it with the words of one of the reviewers: "Why are they
doing this? It must be for the free beer at gigs and for the women
because they are certainly not in it for the music." (what women?)

NOT
FOR THE SQUEAMISH
They have a unique sound
/ One of the weirdest, most demented bands around / hardcore metal
sounds with monstrous vox / not for the squeamisch or the very
young / check out that one vocal notehold-fermata to the extreme.

THEY
KICK ASS
Belgium has been producing
some great bands lately. One of them is <STARSPAWN> / In a word,
these eight songs kick ass! / Ominous, frantic, demented, heavy, loud
and proud. / For maximum amusement... / I predict many great things
for these guys. Don't miss this!
Brynn Mckenna of BALLBUSTER The International Hard Music

AN
ESSENTIAL PRODUCT
What can I say? I simply
can't find a good way to start reviewing this fantastic demo. / These
promising newcomers simply do whatever they like on this utterly classy
tape. / An essential product for all who consider themselves open
minded. / Almost CD-quality with a four track. / Without any doubt
one of Belgium's best demo's of 1995.
Yves

IS
THE WORLD READY?
An enormous
sense of humour and a very wide musical taste. / My question is this:
is the world ready for such a varied band? / Certainly worth buying.

A
COLOURFUL MIXTURE
A colourful
mixture of different influences. / The music sounds exciting enough
so I assume that they must be good live. / Varied and humorous.
